Will Sam’s Club be open July 4th? Here’s a look at MS Coast business openings & closings

Don’t expect any packages on your porch tomorrow. FedEx and UPS will take the U.S. Postal Service’s lead and close for the Fourth of July. Because the holiday observance includes express, ground and freight, expect packages to take longer to arrive this weekend.

The federal holiday also means banks and government offices will be closed.

Most stores and restaurants will be open for the holiday, but call ahead for adjusted hours. Here’s a handy list to make those last minute errands a little easier.

The following stores confirmed they would be open July Fourth:

Grocery stores:

  • Rouses Market

  • ALDI

  • Walmart

  • Target

  • Sam’s Club

  • Fresh Market

  • Winn-Dixie

  • Food Depot

Pharmacy/Drug Stores (Call your local pharmacy location to verify pharmacy department hours. Some will close early):

  • CVS

  • Walgreens

  • Rite Aid

Other stores:

  • Best Buy

  • Dollar General

  • Dollar Tree

  • Home Depot

  • Petco

  • PetSmart

  • Five Below

The Sun Herald checked with several local restaurants and other large chain stores. All planned to remain open for the holiday.

The Humane Society of South Mississippi will not be open July Fourth, but will waive adoption fees for their “Five Days of Freedom”: July 29, July 2, July 3, July 5 and July 6. The shelter is located at 2615 25th Ave. in Gulfport.
