Santa Rosa County school grades are out. How did your school do?

Santa Rosa County District Schools maintained an "A" grade for the 2023-2024 school year, according to grades released by the Florida Department of Education on Wednesday.

This was the second-year students were tested using a new set of state standards and state assessments called FAST (Florida Assessment of Student Thinking.) This test was written specifically for Florida students, based on the roll-out of the Florida Department of Education’s new B.E.S.T. standards (Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking).

Last year’s 2022-2023 school grades served as an “informational baseline” to guide school districts leading into this school year.

This year's result marks the district's 12th A grade since 2010. The only years in the past nearly decade and a half the district has not earned an "A" were in 2021 – when Florida schools were given the option to "opt-in" to receiving a grade and many, including Santa Rosa County, choose not to – and in 2016, when the district earned a "B."

A break-down of each school’s results can be found at the bottom of this article.
