Satellite Imagery Shows Thick Smoke From Park Fire as Containment Decreases

Thick smoke blanketed parts of Northern California on Friday, July 26, as the Park fire in Butte County – the state’s largest active fire – continued to grow.

Timelapse satellite imagery posted by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere shows conditions in the region in the early hours of Friday morning.
