Search ongoing for suspect in deadly shooting in San Gabriel Valley
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is searching for the person who shot and killed a man inside a home in the San Gabriel Valley Monday morning.
The shooting happened just before 11:30 a.m. on the 1200 block of Greenberry Drive in West Valinda.
According to LASD officials, deputies from the Industry Sheriff’s Station responded to the home following a report of shots fired and a wounded man.
Arriving deputies found a man inside a home suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Tuesday, LASD officials identified the victim as Myon Barnes, 24, of West Valinda.
Details regarding the deadly shooting are limited, but investigators have determined that the shooting took place inside the residence and a man was seen fleeing the scene on foot shortly after the fatal shot was fired.
Citing an investigator at the scene, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported that the shooting was the result of an unknown argument between two men, seemingly Barnes and his killer, that became violent.
Other occupants of the home found Barnes after the sound of gunfire was heard. No weapon was found at the scene, the Tribune reported.
No additional information has been released by law enforcement.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the deadly shooting is urged to contact the LASD Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips can be provided online or by calling 800-222-8477.
