Following a failed assassination attempt during a campaign event in Pennsylvania on Saturday, the Republican National Convention kicked off with big energy Monday. Former President Donald Trump picked Sen. JD Vance of Ohio as his running mate, and supporters and former political rivals pledged their support as delegates prepare to formally nominate Trump and Vance as the Republican nominees for president and vice president.
The RNC came to a close Thursday after Trump and Vance formally accepted their nominations.
