Several suspects possibly involved in Lakewood armed robbery

DENVER (KDVR) — Lakewood police responded to an alleged armed robbery that possibly involved five suspects Thursday morning.

At 1:50 a.m., the Lakewood Police Department told FOX31 that officers were called to reports of an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in the 9200 block of West Alameda Avenue. The area is in the Belmar Park neighborhood.

Lakewood police said the investigation has been active and not a lot of information has been released. However, police said there was a possibility that five suspects were involved, and some were reportedly armed with what appeared to be handguns.

Police said no injuries were reported in the incident, but it is unclear if anything was stolen from the convenience store.

Lakewood police said Thornton police located a suspect vehicle and two juveniles who may have been connected to the robbery a short time after the incident occurred. Officers said they have not made any decisions on charges, and no one has been arrested.

Anyone with information on the robbery or who may have witnessed the scene is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department.

This is a developing story, and it will be updated once more information is released.
