Severe storms & heavy rain expected in northern counties of Big Country Sunday

BIG COUNTRY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Widespread storms could be possible for most of our northern counties Sunday evening into overnight hours. The Storm Prediction Center has already issued both a marginal (level 1 out of 5) and slight (level 2 out of 5) for the chance of severe weather.

The main threats from these storms are heavy rain, strong winds, and hail. No tornado threats are currently present in our counties. The high temperatures and humidity expected Sunday will also be the leading factors in the development of these storms.

The timing of these storms could take place as early as 6:00 p.m., and once they clear out after midnight, rain will continue to trail behind them until early Monday morning.
