Sheboygan man allegedly stabs, kills roommate, taken into custody after hours-long standoff

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) – A Sheboygan man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed and killed his roommate on Friday evening, the incident caused an hours-long standoff on South 25th Street.

According to a release, officers with the Sheboygan Police Department responded to a residence in the 1700 block of South 25th Street shortly before 6 p.m. for reports of a victim who had been stabbed by his roommate.

When officers arrived, they were able to get to the victim, who was previously helped by neighbors, and take him to a local hospital for treatment. However, despite lifesaving efforts, the 33-year-old Sheboygan man died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

After obtaining a search warrant for the 34-year-old suspect’s home, efforts to take him into custody began.

For several hours without a response, the suspect stayed inside his home where the stabbing reportedly happened. Eventually, officers used a vehicle-mounted ram to break the front door and continued to issue commands for the suspect to cooperate.

After several minutes he exited the home and was taken into custody without further incident.

A charge of First Degree Intentional Homicide is being referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office.
