CHEBOYGAN — The Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Department recently received an “Excellence in Online Training Management” award from Lexipol Connect for 2023.

Sheriff Tim Cook noted the work of his command team in ensuring that all members of the department meet or exceed the training requirements set forth by the state of Michigan, Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) and the Michigan Sheriff’s Coordinating and Training Council (MSCTC) when it comes to training mandates.

“Training and continuing education is paramount in maintaining the skills and knowledge needed,” said Cook in a statement.
