Shooting on E. University in Lafayette kills two, injures two more
UPDATE: The deceased victims have been identified as Corey Mouton, 26 of Carencro and Jamir Carmouche, 24 of Lafayette, La. The two surviving victims are in stable condition and are recovering from their injuries.
Preliminary investigation details that Lafayette Police responded to a shooting incident outside of 405 E. University Ave. Police say one of the victims killed appeared to be the intended target. As a result of the initial shooting, three of the victims were struck by gunfire and appear to have not been targeted. This incident remains under investigation.
No arrests have been made.
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Lafayette Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 400 block of E. University Ave., authorities said.
Officials said two people were killed and two others have been confirmed injured and in critical condition in the shooting. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
