Six adults, two children rescued from Lake Winnebago after boat took on water

(WFRV) – Deputies in Calumet County helped rescue eight people stranded in Lake Winnebago waters after their boat took on water on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Lake Winnebago around 3:50 p.m. on June 15 for reports of a boat taking on water.

Boats from the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, helping to rescue six adults and two children from the water.

Deputies noted that all eight people were wearing life vests, and other boaters and citizens in the area also helped during the rescue.

No injuries were reported and the incident remains under investigation.
