A slight break from the moisture in Texoma

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Tonight, a weak cold front is pushing into the area, bringing a very slight break from the heat.

There are more child deaths from hot cars in Texas than anywhere else in the US

Light northerly winds will aid in keeping overnight lows comfortable and will also help with Sunday’s highs across portions of Texoma. Saturday night’s low temperature will be 71 degrees with a high on Sunday of 99 degrees.

High pressure remains the main atmospheric weather maker, staying just enough to the east to allow for southerly winds and higher levels of low-level moisture.

For the upcoming week, temperatures will rise into the triple digits once again with heat advisories, if not excessive heat warnings likely being issued by the national weather service.

By the end of the week and into the weekend, high temperatures should ‘cool’ back down a few degrees into the upper 90s.
