Small brush fire closes southbound Highway 23 lanes in Thousand Oaks

Crews responded to a small brush fire off southbound Highway 23 in Thousand Oaks Friday that closed lanes for a time.

The blaze was reported shortly before noon south of Tierra Rejada Road, according to Ventura County Fire Department radio traffic.

Crews described finding a spot fire about 20 square feet in size.

Southbound lanes were closed between Tierra Rejada and Olsen Road.

The left southbound lane reopened before 12:40 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol reports, and two impacted onramps were opened by 12:45 p.m.

All lanes were open by around 1 p.m.
