Small plane crashes into trees on Swans Island

Jun. 26—A small plane crashed into several trees Tuesday evening after taking off on Swans Island in Hancock County.

Only minor injuries were reported, according to a report from the Federal Aviation Administration.

FAA records show that the two-seat personal aircraft, a 1961 Cessna 150B, is registered to Robert Kohut of Sag Harbor, New York.

Investigators were on their way to the crash scene, according to a public affairs specialist from the National Transportation Safety Board.
