South Salt Lake police seeking information on shooting, multiple suspects likely involved

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (ABC4) — The South Salt Lake Police Department is seeking information from the public about a shooting that happened around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning.

According to a press release, multiple shots were fired in South Salt Lake — between about 125 East to 300 East on Helm Avenue — around 1 a.m. on Saturday.

Police said a call came in reporting that gunshots had stuck a car. After arriving at the scene, police were also informed that a nearby residence was hit by a bullet as well.

“Thankfully no one was struck in either the car nor the residence,” South Salt Lake police said in the press release. “The preliminary investigation suggests this is an isolated incident, directed toward the parties involved.”

Based on the evidence, officials said multiple suspects are believed to be involved in the case.
