Southeast Kansas daycare workers arrested

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Two Pittsburg daycare workers are arrested after a child in their care is taken to the hospital.

Pittsburg police arrested Madison Thompson, 27, and Whitney Henderson, 24, late Friday afternoon (7/26).

Thompson is being held in the Crawford County Jail on a half-million-dollar bond on charges of child abuse, endangering a child, and drug charges.

Henderson is being held on a $100,000 bond on charges of endangering a child, weapon and drug charges.

The two were arrested in connection to an incident on June 27 when emergency crews responded to 407 Thomas Street for an infant not breathing.

The child was taken to a Pittsburg hospital and later transferred to Kansas City for specialized treatment.
