Springs preschools donate canned food to Native charity

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Thursday, Dec. 5, three preschools in Colorado Springs donated thousands of canned food items to the One Nation Walking Together charity that benefits the lives of Native Americans.

Preschoolers at Primrose School of North Colorado Springs helped load trucks two cans at a time, with smiles on their faces, as they learned the importance of giving back to their community. The director of Primrose said the kids are happy to help out each year, and she hopes the program continues for years to come.

“We want to teach our children that giving back to our local community is how we can help,” said Amy Taylor, Director of the Primrose School of North Colorado Springs. “That’s one reason why we always choose to be apart of One Nation Walking Together, who gives back to several communities.”

Later in December and into the new year, the preschool will also be holding a coat drive for One Nation Walking Together.
