State 76 construction in Winnebago County will start July 8. Here's how it will impact travel.

OSHKOSH – A section of State 76 will be reduced from four lanes to two for almost two months to facilitate a road works project starting July 8.

The planned works come as part of a $1,131,640 contract aimed at improving 1 mile of State 76 from just north of County Road II to south of Shady Lane in the township of Clayton.

A resurfacing-level improvement project, the construction will see the milling of State 76, replacement of deteriorated guardrail, and the cleaning out of culvert pipers.

State 76 will remain open to traffic during construction, but there will be full-time, single-lane closures.

More road work: US 45 ramp to I-41 to close for 4 months

Flaggers will direct traffic near each project limit where State 76 transitions down to two lanes while local, business and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
