State Police investigating fatal officer-involved shooting in Mifflin County

LEWISTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) — State Troopers are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Mifflin County.

Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown barracks said they were called to the 100 block of West 4th Street in Lewistown around 8:40 p.m. for the incident.

State Police say officers from local departments had responded to the residential area for a report of an armed man firing several shots. Officers found the man who State Police say engaged with responding officers.

The man was fired upon and died from his injuries. No officers were injured during the incident and State Police did not identify the department involved in the shooting.

The Mifflin County District Attorney’s office is assisting in the investigation.
