Can I still mail my ballot? How many people have voted? What to know ahead of Election Day
Election Day is approaching when Treasure Coast residents will vote on local, state and federal officials, local referenda, state constitutional amendments and the next president and vice president of the United States.
Here's what to know ahead of Tuesday, Nov. 5:
How many people have voted in Florida?
Here's how many people already had voted as of Nov. 1 either by casting a ballot by mail or at an early polling precinct:
Treasure Coast: 252,962 residents of Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties had cast a ballot as of 8:40 a.m., according to the unofficial voter turnout numbers on the website of each county's elections supervisor.
Florida: 6,731,960 residents had cast a ballot as of 8:12 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, according to data updated by the Florida Division of Elections website.
Can I still vote by mail?
Yes, but you'll want to mail it as soon as possible since it must arrive by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
If you received a vote-by-mail ballot and you haven't mailed it yet, it can deposited into secure drop boxes at the Supervisors of Elections' main and branch offices until 7:00 pm on Election Day. These ballots may also be deposited at secure drop boxes at designated early voting sites in the county.
If something delays the mail or there are unforeseen events or weather issues, your vote may not be counted. The U.S. Postal Service recommends you mail your completed ballot at least one week before your state's deadline, and in the Sunshine State that time has passed.
