I-81 reopens after car carrier crash in Dauphin County

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A stretch of I-81 through Dauphin County has reopened after an extended closure caused by a multi-vehicle crash.

The closure happened just before 6:30 p.m. and it is for northbound traffic from Exit 77: PA 39 – Manada Hill/Hershey and Exit 80: PA 743 – Grantville/Hershey, according to 511PA.

A PennDOT spokesperson said that the multi-vehicle crash included a car carrier.

The car carrier went off the road and into trees, the spokesperson said.

The road reopened around 10 p.m.

There is no word on the number of vehicles involved, or if there are any injuries.
