Supreme Court denies stay of execution for Christopher Collings
KSNF/KODE — The United States Supreme Court denied a stay of execution for convicted child killer Christopher Collings.
In denying the request to stop Collings’s execution, SCOTUS also denied his request to present evidence that he says could have changed the outcome of his case.
Collings was challenging the credibility of the lead detective on his case, arguing that because the state didn’t disclose the alleged criminal convictions of that officer, it violated his rights.
Execution date requested for convicted child murderer
Collings is scheduled to be executed tomorrow at 6:00 p.m.
He was found guilty of raping and killing nine-year-old Rowan Ford in November 2007.

Her body was discovered, naked, in a McDonald County cave six days after she went missing.
Autopsy results showed she died from strangulation.
Collings confessed to the crime.
The little girl’s stepfather, David Spears, also pleaded guilty for his role in her death and has already been released from prison.
