Suspect arrested in connection to New Haven quadruple shooting

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A Hamden man was arrested after a quadruple shooting on Halloween left one woman in critical condition and three others injured, police said.

Brian Anderson-Benton, 21, was arrested and charged with carrying a pistol without a permit.

This comes after police were called to the 50 block of Church Street on Oct. 31, just after 2 a.m. for the report of gunshots and someone shot. Around 30 rounds of gunshots were exchanged between two shooters, police said.

Police found a 19-year-old woman from West Haven unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Officers also found a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old man from Hamden with gunshot wounds.

Police said a second suspect is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. The suspect is facing the same charges, but no arrest warrant has been processed.

Additional charges may be pending, according to police.

Anderson-Benton was assigned a $500,000 bond and has not posted bail.
