Suspect arrested after Southern California man found murdered inside vehicle

A suspect who remained on the run was arrested after a man was found murdered inside a vehicle in San Bernardino County.

The suspect was identified as Yusuf Wilson Jr., 31, by the Colton Police Department.

On June 3, police responded to a shooting near Fairway and Sperry Drives in Colton at around 10:45 p.m.

Arriving officers located the victim, Brandon Moore, 25, inside a vehicle parked at an apartment complex at 936 E. Fairway Drive.

Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect had fled the area before police could arrive. Investigators later identified Wilson Jr. as the suspect and discovered he had been hiding in Sacramento.

On July 23, Wilson Jr. was tracked down and located at a home in the 1800 block of Ethan Way where he was taken into custody. He will be transported to San Bernardino County, where he will be held pending trial.

The motive behind Moore’s murder is unclear as the case remains under investigation. The details of Moore’s fatal injuries were not released.

Other law enforcement agencies involved in the case included the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the United States Marshal Service.
