Suspect charged in deadly east Charlotte shooting: CMPD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to a deadly shooting from May.

Officials say on September 1, CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested Christian Daniel Sosa, 28.

On May 12, CMPD responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 2200 block of Kilborne Drive.

Officers arrived to find 31-year-old Jovanni Ramirez Fuentes suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Sosa was transferred to the custody of Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Murder.

The investigation is still active and ongoing.
