Suspect jailed after Hilton Head gas station armed robbery caught on surveillance video

A 22-year-old suspect from Beaufort is in custody after an armed robbery of a Hilton Head gas station late last month was caught on surveillance video.

Trevor Lamont Hicks was charged May 31 with armed robbery and the possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was still in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center as of Monday afternoon, although bond information was not immediately available.

Police say Hicks walked into the Parker’s Kitchen at 430 William Hilton Parkway shortly before midnight on May 27, demanding money and cigarettes while holding the clerk at gunpoint. It was unknown how much was stolen from the store in total, although surveillance video shared by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office shows the suspect, dressed in all black, grabbing wads of cash from an open register.

Hicks was previously convicted for driving under suspension, fleeing to evade and interfering with police. A preliminary hearing for his armed robbery charges is scheduled for June 28, according to Beaufort County court records.
