Tangipahoa deputies searching for washing machine thieves
AMITE, La. (WGNO) — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is working to identify and arrest a pair of thieves who targeted a furniture and appliance store in Amite. They’re accused of stealing several washing machines.
The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
According to deputies, the theft happened around 3:00 in the morning on Monday, June 17, at Cutrer’s Appliance and Furniture on Highway 16. They say the suspects used a black SUV that was pulling a trailer.

Deputies say the two loaded several scrap washing machines as well as one that was at the business to be repaired. The total value was estimated at about $500.
