Teen accused of breaking into employee cars at fire station

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A teenager was taken into custody for allegedly breaking into cars at a Memphis Fire station in North Memphis.

Jordan Freeman, 18, is charged with two counts of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, four counts of Attempted Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Aggravated Robbery. His bond was set at $50,000.

On June 10, Memphis Police responded to a burglary in the 2200 block of Chelsea Avenue, Memphis Fire Station #19.

Reports state that two suspects, including Jordan Freeman, used a ladder to jump the fence and enter the parking lot.

South Memphis intersection targeted by crime operation

Officers saw two males inside vehicles belonging to Memphis Fire employees — a 2015 Chevy Silverado and a 2017 Chevy Silverado. They also tried to enter four other cars but were unsuccessful.

The suspects fled the scene on foot and were taken into custody while on Peres Avenue.

Once in custody, Freeman stated he did the crime while being armed with a gun stolen during a robbery that had taken place on June 4.

Freeman and another man allegedly walked up to the victim and took his weapon on North Watkins Street.
