Temple man killed in roll-over crash in Brown County

BROWN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A single-vehicle roll-over crash claimed the life of a Temple man in Brown County Saturday morning.

At 8:14 a.m. on July 6, crews responded to a single-vehicle crash on FM 2632, four miles south of Brownwood.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a Chevrolet pickup was heading north when the driver failed to navigate a curve in the road. The driver veered off the right side of the road in an attempt to steer back onto the road, which led to a side skid.

While skidding, the pickup truck hit a road sign, causing it to roll over. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected during the rollover.

The deceased driver has been identified as 35-year-old Jerrod Lynn Pannell from Temple, Texas. Authorities believe that speed and driver impairment due to alcohol use were contributing factors in the crash.
