According to the Tennessee State Parks’ website, all-terrain wheelchairs are specifically designed to handle a range of terrains that may be encountered in outdoor environments. These wheelchairs are important to park visitors that would otherwise be unable to access some outdoor recreation areas.

Visitors of all ages will be able to use these wheelchairs independently or with caretaker control. The chairs will be free to the public, however visitors that wish to use the wheelchair should give park staff an advance notice. Although it is possible to wait until you arrive to request a chair, there is a possibility that it could be reserved for someone else.
