‘Thankful and grateful’: Lindale community fundraise for mom recovering from crash

LINDALE, Texas (KETK) – The Lindale community is rallying together in support of a single mother recovering from a serious car crash.

Baelyn Campbell’s friends and neighbors hosted a fundraiser to show their support and alleviate financial stress.

Campbell’s family said it’s been almost two weeks since the crash and she is now out of the ICU after neck surgery and a halo brace installation.

“We’re just so thankful she’s able to walk and move,” Ashley Wojtek, Campbell’s aunt, said.

Due to the crash, Campbell will be unable to provide for her three-year-old daughter for several months. Her coworkers at Lindale Specialty Care Center wanted to step up and help.

“We are just raising money to help with any financial needs,” Vanessa Hernandez, with Lindale Specialty Care Center, said. “Also, she has a little girl so we’re kind of supporting her there.”

Campbell’s coworkers said Conquest Healthcare will also be providing some financial assistance. People that would like to donate to support Campbell’s recovery can do so through the GoFundMe set up.

“Anybody that can’t give, just prayers are amazing,” Wojtek said. “We are thankful and grateful for those and anybody that gives, any amount, is so helpful and she is just overwhelmed.”
