Thief at Oakland massage parlor caught on camera, cash stolen from business

(KRON) — A theft earlier this week at an Oakland massage parlor was caught on camera. Video (above) shows a woman sneaking her way behind the front desk of the business.

Around the 35-second mark of the video, she is seen browsing through the counter’s drawers. The suspect then walks away, seemingly leaving with cash.

The theft happened Monday around 6:30 p.m. at Crown Thai Massage on 6180 Antioch St. A police report was filed, but the Oakland Police Department currently does not have any information about the suspect.

The suspect stole an estimated $1,100 from the business, according to the business owner. Two hundred dollars were stolen from one massage therapist, along with $12 from tips and $888 from the business.

“She came into our spa in Montclair Village Oakland and stole our cash and stuffs,” Crown Thai Massage wrote in a Facebook post. “Please report to the police if anyone see her.”

OPD said the woman entered the business, “took several items” and fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
