Three men charged in Wilkes-Barre fatal stabbing

Jul. 26—WILKES-BARRE — Three men are facing criminal homicide charges for the fatal stabbing of Scott Edward Knox during what city police detectives allege was retaliation for a botched drug deal in May.

Fernando Bracero, 30, was jailed June 10 as arrest warrants were issued late Thursday for Justice Supreme Flenory, 23, last known address as 38 N. Sherman St., Wilkes-Barre, and Jaime B. Knights, 63, of 155 W. River St., Wilkes-Barre, charging the trio with criminal homicide and criminal conspiracy.

Knox, 33, was stabbed multiple times when confronted by Bracero, Flenory and Knights in an alley behind the Mofon Lounge at Academy and South River streets on May 7, according to court records.

Court records say Flenory was with Knox and took control driving Knox's vehicle. Flenory traveled to the alley near the Mofon Lounge to meet Bracero and Knights who showed up in Knights' Mercedes at about 3:30 a.m., court records say.

Knox was confronted about a previous drug deal that went bad and was assaulted in the alley.

During the assault, Bracero, Flenory and Knights punched Knox as Bracero stabbed him multiple times in the shoulder, arms and legs, court records say.

Knox broke free from the assault but was chased across Academy Street until he was found on a rear porch of 377 S. River St.

Knox was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township where he died shortly after arrival.

An autopsy by forensic pathologist Dr. Gary Ross revealed Knox suffered multiple stab wounds. County Coroner Jill Matthews listed Knox's death a homicide.

Surveillance cameras recorded the assault in the alley that captured Bracero with the knife lunging at Knox, court records say.

Bracero, also known as Chucky and Flacko, was arrested June 10 and charged in Knox's murder. Bracero's criminal complaint was sealed from the public when he was arrested.
