Three men rob woman cabbie at knifepoint in Brooklyn

A taxi cab driver was robbed at knifepoint by three men after she drove them to Brooklyn from Harlem, cops said Saturday.

The 28-year-old cabbie picked up the trio outside an apartment building on Frederick Douglass Blvd. near W. 112th St. at about 3 a.m. on July 10, cops said.

The three men wanted to go to Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, near the corner of Nostrand and Atlantic Aves., cops were told.

When the woman brought them there, one of the men pulled a knife and robbed her of $300.

The suspects all jumped out of the car and ran off on foot, cops said.

The cabbie wasn’t injured.

Police scoured the area near the drop-off and recovered surveillance footage of the three suspects at a local bodega. Cops on Saturday released the images hoping someone recognizes the suspects.

Advocates for city cabbies and for-hire drivers said robberies are on the rise, with nine occurring in April alone.

Groups like the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers are pushing to bring back a requirement to install cameras or bullet-resistant partitions in livery cabs, which the city did away with last year.

Anyone with information regarding the July 10 robbery is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
