Tinting store employee arrested after pointing shotgun at 2 people, Paso Robles police say

A man was arrested by Paso Robles police on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly pointed a loaded gun at two people.

According to a news release from the Paso Robles Police Department, two people reported a verbal dispute with a man at the ATD Window Tinting store, located at 2605 Theatre Drive on Thursday just after 3 p.m.

Sgt. Reid Goeckner told The Tribune it was unclear why the dispute happened.

The man, identified as Nicolas Wayner, was an employee at the ATD Window Tinting store, Goeckner said.

The sergeant said it turned into a “yelling match” between the victims and the employee, and Wayner made a comment about them getting off his property.

“They said they were there, they got in a verbal altercation with one of the guys at the business, and during that, the gentleman at the business pulled out a shotgun, cocked the shotgun and pointed it at them” Goeckner said.

When the police arrived to the scene, Wayner complied and told officers where the firearm was, according to the release.

Officers then seized several firearms from the property, including a short barrel rifle, non-serialized “ghost guns” and a loaded shotgun, the release said.
