RAMSBOTTOM United supporters club chairman Dan Comer is using Leicester's Premier League win as inspiration for Rammy to get to Wembley. The Evo Stik West side had 17 fans make the 500 mile round trip to see their side progress to the quarter final of the FA Trophy as they won 3-1 at Weymouth. Comer had a lot of praise for manager Chris Wilcock, who only took over the managerial role in October. "We're beyond our wildest dreams already, but three wins and we're at Wembley," said Dan Comer.
Sports shoes don't go with denims. Everybody knows that — even the ones who have been trying to spin the fashion faux pas into a revivalist trend. Sneakers have come a long mile to meet the aching feet halfway, but the fashion tour de force, more often than not, is a technical snafu. There has been, thus, an urgent need to dress those comfortable soles into a pair that answers the cry of a sharp dresser's dragging feet. Skechers, the brand that has some of the most comfortable running shoes in its GoRun line, has forged flexible outsoles into dress designs in its ...
Lottie Moss was putting on a leggy display on Friday night, as she stepped out in London's Chelsea for dinner in Albert's restaurant. The stunning model, 21, showed off her trim pins in a satin red mini dress despite the chilly January climes as she strolled through the capital. Lottie only recently return to London after a sun-soaked Mexican getaway, and the star took to social media last week to lament the end of her break with Scott Disick's ex Ella Ross. Highlighting her amazing physique Lottie made a bold statement in the pillarbox red dress with frilled sleeves, with the dress also boasting a tiny split to further accentuate her slender pins. This time last year, we associated snakeskin clothing with grandma’s closet and a clearance bin. Fast-forward to now, and the pattern (actually, any animal print in general), is one of the most pervasive trends of the moment. While you could follow Rihanna’s lead and wear snakeskin prints head-to-toe, the look is certainly not for the faint of heart.
As more and more companies look to include social responsibility in their marketing strategies, it's can increasingly feel like an afterthought, rather than being something that drives a company. Artisanal, grass roots and craft. In past seasons, designers and fashion houses have used these words—some quite loosely—as a point of reference for their design directions. It is indication of a growing appreciation for items that tell a story and celebrate masterpieces crafted by hand. It reflects the new fashion consumer's mind frame that now looks beyond aesthetics. Today, there is a movement within fashion gravitating towards labels and products that honor centuries-old traditions, craftsmanship and history. And Manila is one destination where all this is flourishing. Meet Manila-based fashion labels to add to your wardrobe this year: ZACARIAS 1925: Weaving Good Design Hand-woven bags, luggage,
The tech world can seem incompatible with the fashion industry. But as disparate as the two industries seem, Sarah Hodge Grob tries to bridge the gap at the Boston software company True Fit. As its senior brand manager, she represents the designer's viewpoint. Sizing has long been a fashion minefield, fraught with psychological angst — many women would rather be a size 2 than 12. But sizing isn't standardized, and bodies come in all kinds of shapes. True Fit has long attempted to sort out the size issue, hence the company's name. Grob, a former model and retail worker, helps the company's data engineers gather information on sizes and styles so they can create a fashion “genome” that allows for
As seen in this lookbook, Our Legacy's Christopher Nying and Jockum Hallin worked around a semi-abstract social and visual construct: young people reveling in conservative (and presumptuously pricier than what a young person might normally be able to afford) restaurants, and the inevitable morning-after mess leftover from the party. The collection was dubbed “Chambre Séparée,” and the notes accompanying it mentioned “youth depravation in a bourgeois setting.” “We wanted the look to be a dressed-down version of what the regular clientele in such a place might wear,” said Nying. He and Hallin's merrymakers thus took over Stockholm's Café Opera, sporting a magpie jumble of separates, from ratty
- Jeans, made right here in New York, in a factory smack in the middle of a retail store on Mercer Street in SoHo. 3x1 Denim invites customers into the process to make their own jeans from scratch. Scott Morrison, the founder of 3x1 Denim says it's a really unique experience and something most people don't get a chance to see in their lifetime. Scott has been in the denim business for over 20 years, first with Paper, Denim & Cloth, then Earnest Sewn. He started his third line, 3x1, eight years ago. Scott says 3x1 is a manifestation of all the knowledge he's collected over the last 20 years. He shares that knowledge with tour groups like the class from FIT that was visiting during our shoot.
