Toyota recalls about 145,000 vehicles over air bag issues. What you should know

Toyota is recalling approximately 145,000 vehicles because of air bag issues, according to a release from Toyota.

The vehicles included in the voluntary recall are the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander and Lexus TX vehicles. The curtain shield airbag on the driver’s side may not deploy as intended during certain crashes if the driver’s window is rolled down.

Toyota is developing a remedy for this issue. Customers will be notified about this issue by the middle of August. For any questions, customers can contact by calling the Toyota Brand Engagement Center at 800-331-4331 or the Lexus Brand Engagement Center at 800-255-3987 for Lexus vehicles.
