Truck fire on I-840 believed to be suspicious

ARRINGTON, Tenn. (WKRN) – Authorities are investigating a truck fire that they believe is suspicious.

Arrington Fire & Rescue said crews responded to reports of a semi truck on fire at around 12:20 a.m. Saturday, July 5 on I-840 at mile marker 42. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the truck’s passenger compartment.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire using about 1,500 gallons of water and foam mix, according to officials. However, investigators said there were “circumstances present that has made the fire suspicious.”

Anyone with information is asked to call either the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office at 615-790-5550 or the TN Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017. Calls to the Arson Hotline are confidential and callers can earn a cash reward of up to $5,000.

Area residents are also asked to check their surveillance footage and report anything suspicious to the above agencies.
