A top pro-Trump super PAC is expanding its ad spending against Vice President Kamala Harris and launching new ads attacking her record as a prosecutor in California and on immigration.

The PAC, Make America Great Again Inc., is adding an additional $32 million of ad buys from now until Labor Day, totaling $70 million. The group is focusing its spending — totaling roughly $12 million a week — in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada and Arizona, according to details shared first with POLITICO.

Almost immediately after President Joe Biden announced he was stepping aside from the race on Sunday, MAGA Inc. released an ad blaming the vice president for “a border invasion, runaway inflation,” and it accused her of hiding Biden’s capabilities as a candidate from the public.

“Democrats got their shotgun wedding, but we’ll be cutting the honeymoon short,” said MAGA Inc. CEO Taylor Budowich in a statement. “Kamala Harris is currently only known as a failed and unpopular Vice President who knifed her boss in the back to secure a nomination she couldn’t earn, but voters are about to learn, it gets worse.”

The super PAC's newest ad, called “Chaotic Mess,” highlights Harris’ responsibility handling the border crisis and her previous comments on immigration and the border. The ad, which has not yet been released but was described to POLITICO, will show a clip from a Harris interview with NBC News’ Chuck Todd in 2022 in which she said the “border is secure.”

It is also expected to feature Harris’ record on Immigration and Customs Enforcement, including a 2018 letter she signed as senator that urged Senate Appropriators to reduce funding for the Trump administration’s “reckless immigration enforcement operations.” In 2018, she told MSNBC that “we probably need to think about starting from scratch” with ICE, although she had also said at the time that “ICE should exist.”

In 2021, Harris was named by Biden as the White House’s point person on immigration issues at the southern border and made diplomatic trips to Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras and El Paso, Texas, to address concerns and announce new commitments. However she has not visited the southern border or countries south of the United States since early 2022, during a period when there were record crossings.

The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Another ad will look at her time as a prosecutor in California. Wednesday night, MAGA Inc. circulated a story by the New York Post about a program she ran as a prosecutor that gave job training to an undocumented migrant who allegedly assaulted a woman.

MAGA Inc.’s new ad campaign comes as Trump has unleashed a barrage of attacks on his new opponent, on everything from Harris' record in Congress to her position on abortion.

At a campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, Trump labeled Harris as a “radical, left lunatic” who is “more liberal than Bernie Sanders,” “destroyed San Francisco with her policies” and will “destroy our country if she’s elected.”

The Trump campaign has not yet released any new ads targeting Harris.
