Less than a month after a would-be assassin tried to kill former President Donald Trump, the GOP candidate is rallying again in Pennsylvania.

Trump was shot in the ear when Thomas Matthew Crooks fired several rounds toward him as he spoke at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 9.

A rally attendee was killed and two other people were critically wounded.

The shooter was killed by Secret Service counter snipers.

Trump has held two rallies since then and delivered a lengthy address at the Republic National Convention just days after the shooting.

Now, he’s added a stop in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to his campaign trail.

When is Trump in Harrisburg?

Former President Donald Trump will host a rally in Harrisburg on Wednesday, July 31.

The rally is set for the New Holland Arena, an event space that typically hosts concerts, sports events, and community gatherings and can accommodate up to 7,500 people.

Trump has routinely opted for outdoor rallies like a beachfront stop in Wildwood, New Jersey earlier this year and the last Pennsylvania rally at the Butler Farm Show Grounds.

His last two rallies have both been indoors and the Secret Service has reportedly advised his campaign to avoid outdoor venues in the future.

Trump is ramping up his rally schedule as he faces a new Democratic opponent following President Joe Biden’s abrupt departure from the race and Vice President Kamala Harris’ quick rise to fill the spot.

The Harrisburg rally — noted as a “Featured” event on his campaign website — quickly follows a stop in St. Cloud, Minnesota set for Saturday.

His running mate, JD Vance, will join Trump at the St. Cloud rally and has three — two in Nevada and another in Arizona — by himself that week.

The stop in Harrisburg, about 5 hours from Butler, is a strategic one as much as a symbolic one. Pennsylvania is a battleground state and Gov. Josh Shapiro appears to be on a shortlist of running mates for Harris.

Harris is expected to accept the nomination at the Democratic National Convention later next month and she and Trump could have their first debate in early September.
