In Christopher Wagner's op-ed, "As a lawyer, Sen. J.D. Vance has a duty to defend our legal system, judges," (June 24), the Hamilton County Common Pleas judge incorrectly stated, "While Sen. Vance can exercise his freedom of speech as anyone else, attorney Vance may not."

To me, Sen. Vance has a duty to tell Americans the truth regarding how Democrats have misused our judicial system. The Bible says, "We know the law is good, if one uses it properly" (1 Tim.1:8, NIV). Democrats have shown what happens when you use the law to selectively and unlawfully prosecute political opponents.

Judge Wagner is voicing one of many claims Democrats push: That it is wrong to criticize a justice system weaponized against Republicans. While the January 6 "insurgents" tried to prevent the overturning of the will of the people, Democrats totally rejected the will of the American people.

Democrats repeatedly tried to remove Trump from office based on charges they would never file against any Democrat. Democrats ran for office promising to prosecute Trump and repeatedly dragged him into court during an election year, trying to bankrupt him, jail him, silence him and label him as a felon.

In another Enquirer letter to the editor ("We don't need perfect leaders, but we do need decent ones. That's not felon Trump," June 17), Rob Mooth ignores that President Joe Biden is a compulsive liar. Biden was forced to withdraw from the 1988 presidential election due to plagiarism scandals. Then, he claimed in an interview that he graduated in the top of his Syracuse Law School class when he really graduated 76th out of 85 students.

Simply put, Biden is compelled to lie because the truth is not on his side. Trump does not need to lie, because the truth is on his side. That is the difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Democrats are hypocritical about who they uphold as leaders. They defended President Bill Clinton when he was found guilty of lying under oath about sexual relations with an Oval Office intern, saying it was a personal matter that did not affect his ability to govern.

Democrats say we are a nation of laws, not men, but make every election about the men. They focus on the candidates, not about American principles and values embodied in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

I want a president who will uphold those values. I believe no Democrat can do that.

As an attorney and retired Army officer, I want a commander-in-chief who is respected and feared by other nations. Trump defeated ISIS in Syria and killed a top Iranian general. Putin invaded Ukraine when Barack Obama and Biden were president, not when Trump was president. If Trump was president, thousands of lives would have been saved in Israel, Gaza and Ukraine.

Montgomery resident Timothy Jacobson, a retired U.S. Army Officer and attorney, believes Democrats' hypocrisy in the current election cycle shows why a president like Trump is necessary.

Timothy Jacobson is a retired Ohio attorney and retired Army officer with 33 years of service (11 active duty, 22 National Guard and Reserves). He has lived in Hamilton County, in the city of Montgomery, for over 30 years.
