According to officials, both suspects left the mall in a silver Nissan Altima with a Washington plate before disappearing. Police traced the plates to Shawn Neal Jr., the vehicle’s renter, launching an investigation.

Neal and his alleged accomplice Hazir Gordon were pulled over during a traffic stop today, July 15. Officials said counterfeit bills with the same serial number as those from the mall were recovered during the stop.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with forgery.
