Two charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault in Greenbelt

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Greenbelt police said they arrested and charged two people Friday, one man and one juvenile, for armed robbery and first-degree assault in Greenbelt.

At around 10:45 a.m., police responded to the 6100 block of Springhill Terrace for a report of an armed robbery.

According to a press release from the Greenbelt Police Department, the victim said two males approached him, one of whom displayed a handgun.

The suspects allegedly stole the victim’s phone and then ran into a nearby apartment building, according to police. Officers closed off the scene, located the suspects and placed them into custody.

Detectives are processing the evidence and other related charges for the suspects are pending. Police said the preliminary investigation suggests these suspects were involved in recent robberies.
