Update, 4:30 p.m.: More than 4,000 Duke Energy customers in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area are without power Sunday afternoon after severe thunderstorms rolled through.

Most outages are concentrated on the West Side, particularly in Cheviot where more than 800 people were without power. In Northern Kentucky, There are about 504 customers with no electricity near CVG, as well as 429 customers affected south of Florence.

Taste of Cincinnati resumed at 3 p.m., according to an event spokesperson. Festival officials announced on social media just before 1 p.m. they were pausing operations due to severe weather.

Taste of Cincinnati posted just before 1 p.m. that the festival is pausing operations as storms move in. Event-goers are being asked to take shelter.

The weather service posted on X around 1:30 that those outdoors should be advised of storms hitting within 60 minutes, with wind gusts up to 60 mph.

The game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds has also been rain delayed after the fifth inning.

Update, 1:10 p.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning in Cincinnati until 2:15 p.m.

The affected area includes Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, as well as southwest Indiana. Hamilton County as well as portions of Butler and Clermont counties are under a warning. Surrounding areas are still under a severe thunderstorm watch.

Two rounds of severe weather are possible Sunday, one during the afternoon and one at night, according to the National Weather Service at Wilmington. Storms could produce heavy rainfall, with up to a half-inch of rain.

The first round is expected in the afternoon before 5 p.m. The second could be overnight most likely after 10 p.m.

Potential threats include damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain which could lead to flash flooding. Forecasters say a few tornadoes are also possible.

It will be warm with a high near 82. The severe weather threats come amid a busy Downtown weekend.

In response to the storms, the Cincinnati Reds' Sunday afternoon game was rescheduled from 1:40 p.m. to 12:10 p.m.

It also coincides with Taste of Cincinnati. Organizers previously told The Enquirer there are plans in place in the event of severe weather, and they are working with local officials to monitor it. They also noted Taste has not been canceled due to bad weather in recent memory.
