At just before noon, a dozen attendees of the fundraiser gathered wearing casual attire and donning straw hats to protect from the sun. Bethany Patten, of Boston, standing in line at the Bradford Street entrance, said she was attending because she does "a lot of work in climate change policy so I want to support any administration that's going to care about climate."

Patten added she hopes Harris will "give messages of hope" at the event.

"I'm very excited to just see her and hear what she has to say and see the other Massachusetts and Boston leaders who are here. It's an interesting moment and I'm curious what kind of message they have. I hope we're going to hear something unifying but also optimistic," said Watertown resident Jeff Burchard, adding there will probably be a lot of doors left open as to the future of the Democratic presidential race.
