Outer Banks fans have got to be some of the most patient people in the streaming world right now. After the shocking season 2 finale, fans were left with a huge cliffhanger. Don't remember how the season ended? Maybe because the last time you saw your favorite Pogues was summer of 2021!
Netflix announced the third season last December and since then, fans haven't learned much else...until now.
A recent video of lead actress Madelyn Cline is going viral because she unknowingly let some MAJOR news slip about season 3.
Though unconfirmed by Netflix or the show's official accounts, the actress, who plays Sarah Cameron, accidentally revealed the release date and we have every reason to believe her. While on the red carpet for her latest film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Madelyn explained how the upcoming season "is a ride from start to finish."
After a few more questions, the actress exclaimed that they just wrapped season 3 and it's on its way. And that's when she drops the official release date: February 23!
As soon as she says it, she second-guesses herself, asking the person beside her, "February 22?" only to realize the release date has not been officially announced (yikes). After spilling the beans, Madelyn's obviously shocked that she revealed the secret and ends the interview, but hey, we all make mistakes, right?
Once they picked their jaws up from the floor, fans immediately ran to the comment section to share their excitement with messages like, "february 2023! can’t wait getting my pogues back" and "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH USKSDKKWJDSKSJJDD I AM SO PSYCHED."
Some people compared the moment to how Spiderman actor Tom Holland would spoil Marvel movie plots, endings, details, sequels, and even the name of his own movie before it was officially announced.
Luckily, something that the two actors have in common is charm. Madelyn handled her accident like a champ and kept it moving. After all, if you look as stunning as this on the red carpet...
