Migrant illegally in the US charged with rape of juvenile in Daleville

DALEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — Daleville Department of Public Safety was alerted to a potential case of rape of a juvenile early August 9.

Officers received a tip from the pastor at the victim’s church of a potentially inappropriate relationship between a 32-year-old married man and a teenage girl.

Following an investigation, officers conducted a traffic stop later that same evening that was identified to have their suspect inside.

At 5:40 p.m., officers arrested their suspect, Gabriel Espino, a 32-year-old undocumented migrant, and charged him with rape in the first degree.

Officers say that the victim, at the onset of the relationship a 15-year-old girl, said that over the nearly six-month relationship with the man it turned from inappropriate to Espino outright threatening harm to her and her family.
