Urbana, Middletown students recognized at business leaders conference

Five Frederick County high school students received national recognition at the 2024 Future Business Leaders of America conference.

The conference was held June 29 to July 2 in Orlando, Fla. About 400 parents and students from Maryland attended, according to FCPS.

The Urbana High School student awardees are:

* Rayn Taskeen, first place in Sales Presentation

* Jackson Fanning, fifth place in Computer Problem Solving

* Fateen Jawahardeen, seventh place in Computer Game and Simulation Programming

The Middletown High School student awardees are:

* Logan Bohn, first place in Public Policy & Advocacy

* Oliver Chase, ninth place in Securities and Investments

The conference featured competitive events in which students completed projects related to a specific category. The projects were then rated by Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) judges.

“FCPS is proud of all of our students and their advisors involved in FBLA teams for their dedication and hard work that led them to achieve national recognition,” the FCPS press release said.
