In urging Biden to withdraw from the election now, Dems' timing is way off | Letters

I am so disappointed in Lloyd Doggett and his suggestion that President Biden drop out of the race at this crucial time. Why is he suggesting this now? If this was so important, why didn't he suggest that he drop out a year ago when the Democrats could actually have presented a viable candidate to adequately prepare for the race.

I have been following Mr. Doggett since early in his career in politics and have been a loyal supporter. I was working at the IRS when I met him. I still followed his career after I relocated to Tulsa and after my retirement from the federal government. I am proud to be a lifetime Democrat, but if Lloyd and the other Democrats who want the president to drop out of the race, persist, I will consider dropping my membership in the Democratic Party. I would like to hear his choices for a replacement.

Two elderly candidates. One has

the potential to do America harm.

Anyone who has been paying attention is concerned about the upcoming election.

Both candidates are elderly.

One walks stiffly and speaks slowly, but under him we’ve had calm and decency. We’ve stood with our allies and been strong and diplomatic with our enemies. We are the most prosperous country on earth.

The other candidate has a delusional, horror movie view of America. He speaks rapidly and forcefully, but hatefully, nonsensically and untruthfully.

When November comes, I will vote for the candidate who secured NATO, is fighting climate change, bringing factories and jobs to underserved communities and who lives loving family values.

I will not vote for the convicted felon who owes hundreds of millions in legal fines, and faces trials for inciting insurrection, not returning classified documents and for trying to coerce votes.

I would vote for a corpse before I’d vote for Trump. A corpse will do you no harm.
