Vice Ganda: Jon Avila is just a friend
Even if people see them tease and throw jokes at each other on stage, Vice Ganda says there’s nothing beyond friendship between him and Jon Avila.
“Hindi kami mag-on. We are like best of friends. Magbarkada na kami. Love life niya at love life ko, alam namin pareho,” Vice Ganda said in an interview with ‘Showbiz News Ngayon.’
Jon used to be a guest judge in ‘Showtime,’ which Vice Ganda regularly hosts. Their chemistry on stage is such that those who watch them speculate if this is the result of a romance between the two.
In fact, Vice Ganda just left the country to do shows in the United States together with Jon.
“Natutuwa yung audience na nakikita kaming naghaharutan on stage. Kinikilig sila. Siyempre mas maganda yung kasama mo sa trabaho click kayo, ‘di ba? Yung producer gusto rin naman nila yung idea na naghaharutan kami,” Vice Ganda said.
Vice Ganda revealed he is seeing someone, but refused to disclose his identity.
“Hindi ko pwedeng sabihin, non-showbiz. Nasa sports. Nasa sports?,” Vice Ganda joked and laughed.
Vice Ganda says his special someone has nothing to be insecure about when it comes to Jon. But Vice Ganda admits his special someone would sometimes get jealous of the men he (Vice Ganda) works with.
“Yung kay Paolo Hubalde, sobrang nagselos talaga siya,” Vice Ganda said.
This jealousy drove his special someone to visit Vice Ganda on the set.
“Kasi kilala niya ako eh. Minsan may mga nararamdamansiyang mga pag-harot ko na totoo. May mga times na pumunta siya sa studio ng `Showtime; kasi napanood niya parang totoo ang harot na ito. Yung kay Paolo Hubalde, sobrang nagselos talaga siya, “ Vice Ganda added.
Meanwhile, Vice Ganda denies any rift between him and close friend Toni Gonzaga. Speculations of a falling out started when Vice Ganda was excluded as a guests in Toni’s upcoming concert.
“Hindi ko nga alam eh. Kaya kami na ang nag-usap. Sabi ko tanong mo kahit walang baya maggi-guest ako sa show mo. Kasi gusto kong maging bahagi sa malaking event na yun sa buhay ni Toni kasi masaya akong iinvolve ang sarili ko kay Toni kasi mahal na mahal ko siya,” Vice Ganda said.
